iPhone 6s users complain of overheating Touch ID buttons

Last year, the iPhone 6 was marred by the infamous bendgate when users complained that the phone bent in the back pockets due to pressure.

New Delhi: It has been barely a few weeks that the newest iPhones have started selling and the customers have already starting airing complaints about the flagship Apple phones.

Early iPhone 6s users have complained of overheating Touch ID or home button while starting up the device. Several users took to Apple support forum explaining the problem.

When a user turned on the phone, the home screen appeared black and the Touch ID/ Home button felt hot. One user tried resetting the phone after holding the home button and lock buttons for 10 seconds to get rid of the issue. However, some of complained of acute battery drainage after the reset. While the overheating problem affects the home button, the phone itself doesn't feel hot.

This is the first hardware-related issue with the new iPhones. Last year, the iPhone 6 was marred by the infamous bendgate when users complained that the phone bent in the back pockets due to pressure.

Users of the new iPhone 6s are also experiencing software-related bugs, including some concerning the new 3D Touch tap-reducing feature. Users complain that the normal taps on web links won’t open up in Safari as normal. Some of also felt disappointed with the sound quality of the iPhone 6s.

Although the issue has been reported to Apple authorities, we expect a software update or a hardware replacement would fix the rather alarming overheating issue.
