At News18 Tech We have been getting loads of queries about two phones, in particular, the Oppo A57 and the Moto M. Both the phones are potent enough and have the ability to woo consumers to their side. The Oppo A57 is priced at Rs 14,990 and the Moto M is Rs 15,999. Yes there is a price difference of Rs 1,000 between them but buyers are willing to spend a little extra if they get a bang for their buck.

We try to break it down, which one is the best phone among the two.

Display

Oppo A57 sports a 5.2-inch HD LCD display with 2.5D curved glass. The Moto M is also a mid-range smartphone with a unibody design that sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with Full HD (1920×1080) resolution. On the display fron the Moto M packs in a better display than the Oppo A57 on paper. But the reflectivity on the screen of both the devices is almost similar.

Processor
The Oppo A57 works on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Oppo’s own ColorOS 3.0 skin. It runs on an octa-core 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor. It also offers Adreno 505 GPU for graphics. This is a very potent processor and can handle multitasking, gaming and graphics with ease.

The Moto M on the other hand works on stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. It is powered by a 2.2 GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P15 processor and comes in two memory options- 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage for and 4GB RAM/64GB ROM. The MediaTek processor promises a punch but is not as good as the Qualcomm that the Oppo A57 has to offer.

Camera
The Oppo A57 packs a 16-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1.12nm pixel size. The smartphone also has a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture with a LED Flash Module. The image quality on offer is good enough and will appeal a lot to your social media followers.

The Moto M on the other hand packs in a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. The image quality appears dull on the smartphone and is not good for clicking images in low light. The Oppo A57 offers better camera capabilities than what the Moto M has to offer.

Battery
The Moto M is powered by a 3,050mAh battery. As it runs a stock android operating system the phone consumes less power and will last you more than the Oppo A57 that comes with a 2900mAh non-removable battery.

Why Buy the Moto M?
If you are looking for a stylish looking smartphone with a metal body in a decent budget then look at the Moto M. It is also the first Moto phone to feature Dolby Atmos support. The phone offers water repellent nano-coating to safeguard against splashes.

Why Buy the Oppo A57?

What do We Think?
Motorola has had a strong legacy in India with their Moto phones. If you want to play it safe then go for the Moto M, it's the Virat Kohli phone in this price range. But if you are someone who likes having things out of the ordinary then the Oppo A57 makes sense.
