OnePlus is set to launch the OnePlus 9 series of smartphones next month, according to reports around the next flagship series from the Chinese manufacturer. This year, OnePlus is reported to launch three smartphones in the OnePlus 9 series, including an entry-level smartphone, the OnePlus 9E or the OnePlus 9 Lite. Ahead of the launch, key specifications of the OnePlus 9E, alongside that of the OnePlus 9 Pro have leaked online, hinting that the OnePlus 9E will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 SoC and the OnePlus 9 Pro will be launched by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset.
According to the recent leak that comes courtesy of a website named Techmania, the OnePlus 9E or OnePlus 9 Lite will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 SoC and the OnePlus 9 Pro will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. The OnePlus 9E or OnePlus 9 Lite is further expected to pack 8GB of RAM paired with 128GB of internal storage. It is expected to feature a 6.5-inch display with a resolution of 1,800×2,400 pixels and 90Hz refresh rate.
In terms of optics, the OnePlus 9E or OnePlus 9 Lite may come with a dual rear camera setup with a 64-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle shooter. The battery on the OnePlus 9E or OnePlus 9 Lite is said to be a 5,000mAh unit - slightly bigger than the OnePlus 9 Pro.
The OnePlus 9 Pro, on the other hand, could feature an AMOLED display with a 1440×3216 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is tipped to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, paired with at least 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage.
In terms of optics, the OnePlus 9 Pro is reported to come with a triple rear camera setup including a 48-megapixel primary camera, a 64-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a telephoto lens with 3.3x optical zoom. This year, OnePlus is reportedly using Hasselblad cameras on the OnePlus 9 Pro model.
