Panasonic has launched its Eluga Tapp smartphone at a price of Rs 8,990. The device comes with a fingerprint scanner at the front along with an add-on security feature called ‘Android for Work’ that allows the user to segregate the business apps from personal apps and also protects user’s personal data.
Android for Work features what's known as a work profile on a device -- a segregated, managed environment. To prevent data leakage, apps in the work profile can't communicate with users' personal apps, and corporate accounts.
The smartphone supports 4G VoLTE and features a 5-inch Full HD IPS display. It is powered by a 1.25GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage with support for up to 32GB microSD cards. It runs Android Marshmallow operating system.
It sports an 8 MP rear camera with auto-focus and a 5MP front camera for selfies. The phone weighs 138 grams and is backed by a 2,800mAh battery.
The Panasonic Eluga Tapp will be available in Champagne Gold and Silver Grey colours. Also on offer with the smartphone is a protective screen guard. Connectivity options include GPS, Wi-Fi and Dual SIM (4G/3G+2G) , VoLTE, Bluetooth and more.
