Samsung Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy S8 have been ranked as the top two smartphones by a recent consumer report. The report mentions how the latest Galaxy smartphones carry a tall and narrow design and with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9, offer a wide screen within a small phone size.

Placed at the top position, the Galaxy S8+ was termed as having the “biggest screen in our ratings” by the reports, just beating the Sony Xperia XA Ultra. The Samsung Galaxy S8 was placed at number 2 and both the smartphones were praised for their bezel-less display and their long battery life.

Everyone knew that the Galaxy Note 7 incident would not have let Samsung play around with the battery specifications of these 2 flagship smartphones. Yet, the 3,000 mAh and the 3,500 mAh batteries of the Galaxy S8 and the S8+ respectively proved more than enough for users as the Consumer Report mentioned a 14.5-hours long run for the S8+ and a 13-hours performance for S8 while browsing the internet over Wi-Fi.

The cameras of the smartphones scored top marks in the Consumer Report as well, with their earlier edition – the Galaxy S7 Edge being placed third. The report indicated how despite not having a Dual-camera setup, like the Apple iPhone 7 Plus or the LG G6, the cameras delivered best-in-class images even under low-light conditions.

However, both the Samsung smartphones faced criticism for not offering a single-handed operation capability and for the awkward placement of their fingerprint sensors at the back.

Placed at the fifth position as of now, Apple would certainly look to up its game with its highly anticipated next flagship - iPhone 8, which is set to launch in a few months.
