South Korean tech giant Samsung has launched a series of smartphones in India today- Galaxy A6+, Galaxy A6, Galaxy J6 and Galaxy J8. Samsung Galaxy A6+ is the most expensive of the lot with a price tag of Rs 24,990. Galaxy A6, on the other hand, comes in two variants with the base model (4GB RAM+32GB) priced at Rs 21,990 while Galaxy J8 will retail at Rs 18,990. But the most affordable smartphone launched by the company today is Galaxy J6. The device comes in two storage models starting at Rs 13,990 for the base variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. As for the model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, it is priced at Rs 16,490. On this price point, Galaxy J6 competes directly with Xiaomi's Redmi Note 5 Pro, Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1), Oppo Realme 1 and Gionee S11 Lite. For those who are looking to buy a smartphone in the Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 range, here is a comparison of all the five devices and what they have to offer.
Samsung Galaxy J6:
Galaxy J6 features a 5.6-inch HD+ AMOLED Infinity display with a 1480x720 pixels resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Specifications:
Xiaomi's Redmi Note 5 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz and comes in two variants, a 4GB RAM variant and another 6GB RAM option, both carrying a 64GB internal storage. It sports a 5.99-inch FHD+ display with a 2160x1080p pixel resolution and a 2.5D finish. It runs the latest MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat 7.1.1. The optics on the Redmi Note 5 Pro are backed by a dual camera setup at the back placed vertically. It is powered by a Snapdragon 430 SoC and carries a 4GB RAM coupled with 32GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB. Gionee S11 Lite runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is backed by a 3030 mAh battery. The cameras on the device comprised of a dual camera setup at the back with a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor for depth effect. At the front, the phone comes with a 16-megapixel selfie shooter with support for Bokeh selfies and a Face Beauty Mode.
Gionee S11 Lite also offers features like App Lock, App Clone (which lets you create 3 different WhatsApp accounts simultaneously) as well as Private Space 2.0.
Oppo Realme 1 Specifications:
Realme 1 sports a glass fibre body at the back with the diamond-like finish. The company claims that the device feature 15 tangent planes carved on the back body, which gives different shades of black. The smartphone features a 6-inch FullHD+ IPS LCD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a 2160x1080 pixels resolution and a 403 ppi. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6771 SoC and come with a 6GB RAM coupled with 128GB internal storage. It runs the latest Android 8.1 operating system with ColorOS 5.0 on top. As for its optics, the Realme 1 comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera at the back with PDAF and depth (Bokeh) effect and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter at the front that also support Bokeh effect. Security features on the smartphone include a Face Unlock but surprisingly, skips out on a fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options on the smartphone include a microUSB slot, Bluetooth 4.2, FM Radio and a hybrid SIM slot for dual-SIM connectivity.
