Over the period of time biometric authentication for smartphones has evolved itself from fingerprint sensor to face recognition. Taking this biometric authentication a step forward the South Korean tech giant Samsung is all set to launch its new flagship smartphone with a new method to guard your device. According to the patent application, Samsung is exploring a system that would scan the unique lines on user’s palm to save it from being used by others or in case of a forgotten password. Samsung is also expected to come up with a foldable smartphone in 2018 along with a bezel-less display.

Samsung has reportedly readied its guns to tackle the recently launched Apple flagship, the iPhone X. As per a recent tweet by noted tipster Evan Blass, the next-in-line flagship smartphone by the South Korean company, namely the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+, will debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to be held in Las Vegas in January.

The smartphones are expected carry 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch Super AMOLED displays respectively, just as the ones on their predecessors, which Samsung at the time termed as the ‘Infinity’ displays with their curved edges. The smartphones are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s next-in-line Snapdragon 845 SoC, and an equivalent Exynos processor for its global variant, probably the recently launched Exynos 9810. Samsung is also anticipated to differentiate between both its offerings this time with a bigger 6GB RAM on the Galaxy S9+, as compared to the 4GB RAM offering on the S9. As per the report, the plus variant will also receive a Galaxy Note 8 like dual camera setup at the back.
