New Delhi: One large pizza with social media topping just got yummier. Pizza giant Domino's has taken the younger generation's Twitter addiction way too seriously as it looks to push its service to the 140-character world.Starting May 20, Domino's will begin its 'tweet-to-order' system in the US which will allow its pizza lovers to order a pizza by a simple tweet.A report on USA Today notes that this innovative approach will make the pizza delivery behemoth the first major player in the restaurant industry to use the microblogging channel on, an ongoing basis, to place and complete an order.If you are a regular customer, you need to tweet only the pizza emoji to Domino's Twitter account to get your pizza delivered.In an age where the young consumers are ultra tech-savvy and have more presence on the web, it was but an add-on for Domino's already successful sales model that sees 50 per cent of its sales taking place digitally.On the other hand, Domino's use of Twitter as a sales platform will help it transform into an online social network that is beyond just a place to chat about or advertise products to digital gathering place where people can buy things. Twitter has previously tested promotions like Starbucks' tweet coffee to a friend and Miami Dolphins' tweet-a-beer. However, Domino's isn't a test promotion, but a thorough service on the digital platform.Among other tech-forward ways folks can currently order from Domino's: Samsung Smart TVs, Pebble and Android Wear smartwatches; Ford SYNC AppLink, and the voice app "Dom."Domino's CEO Patrick Doyle indicated that the company will continue to look at platforms where people are spending time like Facebook and Instagram, and that Twitter will not be their last platform.Teasing the new system, Domino's Twitter page @dominos tweeted only with pizza emojis and finally announced the feature.####iframe[id^='twitter-widget-']{width:100%!important;}
