New Delhi: Xiaomi has launched its new smartphone - the Redmi 3S - in India. The new budget phone from Xiaomi comes in two versions - the regular Redmi 3S and the Redmi 3S Prime.
The Redmi 3S comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. It is priced at Rs 6,999. The Redmi 3S Prime, on the other hand, includes 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage and a fingerprint sensor. The Prime variant costs Rs 8,999.
The new phone will be initially available on Mi.com and a leading e-commerce site. The first sale is on August 9. Buyers don't need to register in advance.
The highlight of the phone is its 4,100 mAh battery, which is claimed to last for two days on a single charge.

Encased in a metal body, the Redmi 3S, as the company describes, inherits "most of the personality and features" of the Redmi Note 3.
Other specifications of the phone include a 5-inch HD display, 1.4 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, 13 megapixel rear PDAF camera, and a 5 megapixel front camera. The phone supports all India LTE bands, says Xiaomi.
While the Redmi 3S is a dual-SIM phone, its second SIM is hybrid, which can either accommodate a second SIM or a microSD card up to 128 GB.
The phone comes in three colours - dark grey, gold, and silver (for the Redmi 3S Prime).
