Xiaomi is set to celebrate its 8th year anniversary soon and as per recent reports, the Chinese tech giant might mark the occasion with a successor to its Mi-smartphone line up, named the Mi 8. For this, the company might skip the Mi 7 altogether and launch the Mi 8 directly. Reports also indicate a couple of interesting features on the device, including face recognition and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Now, a short video has surfaced online showcasing a Xiaomi device with an in-display sensor as a user opens up the locked device just by placing a thumb on the display where a fingerprint sensor's icon is displayed. The device can be identified as one of Xiaomi's due to the MIUI icons which can be seen on it once it unlocks. The in-display sensor is also quite fast to respond. The video has been uploaded on May 18, 2018, showing that it is a fresh leak.
