The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture will hear the views of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), Air India and Pawan Hans on the disinvestment of Air India and Pawan Hans on August 8, as per the panel's schedule.
The Air India employees union on Thursday called the government's proposal to privatise the national carrier unilateral and arbitrary and threatened to launch a campaign to oppose the move.
Air India said that there is no threat of any strike from any of the registered unions of its employees.
The threat comes after Air India de-recognised two employee unions which spearheaded the two-day strike.
