Twitter last year introduced the hide button on Twitter app as well as Web client. The platform also allows users to restrict replies.
Developers can now create tools that automatically hide bad tweets like those including certain prohibited keywords or those that score high for being toxic.
Users outside Canada won’t be able to use the feature themselves but would be affected when it’s used by someone in Canada.
While the feature has the potential to make trolls invisible, it could make it difficult for users to correct wrong statements made by others.
