As per official figures, as of now, 2,165 migrants who have returned from other states have tested positive for Covid-19 taking the tally to 8,075 cases.
Scores of migrant workers have fallen sick or died on their way home, either from exhaustion or in accidents ever since the coronavirus lockdown was announced.
In its statement, the Auraiya police said the accident took place near Shivji Dhaba in Tikauli village involving a trailer truck and a mini-truck with both the vehicles falling into a ditch by the roadside.
Both the trucks were carrying migrant labourers and the accident took place in the wee hours of Saturday.
The migrant family was headed to Chhattisgarh on a bicycle after they reportedly ran out of resources during the ongoing lockdown necessitated by the coronavirus pandemic.
