Pratap Singh and his wife Mayuari were visiting the popular White Island in New Zealand when the volcano erupted on December 9. The police in New Zealand confirmed their deaths.
The official death toll from the eruption on White Island, also known by its Māori name of Whakaari, stands at 16. Six bodies were retrieved from the island on Friday.
Police believe one of the missing bodies was sighted in the water close to the island by rescue teams on Tuesday, the day after the eruption. The location of the other body is not known.
6 people were killed in explosion at White Island, which lies some 50 km (30 miles) off the mainland, with another eight missing and presumed dead and 30 injured.
The latest eruption, on June 22, billowed forth such a massive and magnificent cloud of ash over the island that it was visible all the way from space.
