In a survey conducted by YouGov in association with News18, results show that a vaccine against coronavirus, potentially ending the seemingly never-ending battle against the virus, is what most Indians are hopeful about.
Talking about the comfort levels in doing different things which were a subject to restriction due to the virus earlier, almost seven in ten (69%) said they will be comfortable in returning back to their offices while many (67%) are comfortable with the idea of travelling to domestic destinations.
When asked to anticipate about the time frame for the availability of the coronavirus vaccine for the masses, more than half (52%) said it would happen early this year (Between January - April), while 36% predicted it to be mid-year (May- August). Only 12% said it will be the latter half of this year (September- December) when a vaccine for Covid-19 will be available for everyone.
Majority of urban Indians (68%) are keen on taking the vaccine once it becomes available for all (numbers combine very likely +likely). Only 8% showed their reluctance in taking the vaccine (number combines very unlikely + unlikely) while 24% said they are unsure.
When it comes to following the safety precautions and restrictions related to coronavirus (like wearing the mask, using a sanitizer), six in ten (64%) urban Indians feel that everyone should be subject to the same coronavirus restrictions until most people have been vaccinated in the country. While one in five (19%) wish that those who have been vaccinated for the virus should no longer be subjected to any restrictions.
57% said they are fine with attending marriage functions with large gatherings or sending their kids back to school or college.
Almost seven in ten (69%) said they will be comfortable in returning back to their offices while many (67%) are comfortable with the idea of travelling to domestic destinations.

Some even look forward to meeting the people they found online (47%).

Talking about their work life, one-third people said they will be comfortable in returning back to their offices only once everyone is vaccinated while 30% confirmed that they will be comfortable in going back to work once people in their office are vaccinated.
Talking about the job market, close to half the respondents (48%) said they are confident about the improvements in the job opportunities this year.
Exercising and staying fit (45%) and saving more money (38%) are the top resolutions for the year 2021. Spending more quality time with loved ones (34%), emphasizing on personal health & hygiene (32%) and investing in health plans and securities (26%) are some of the other top goals for people this year.
