Born on October 26, 1991, Amala Paul's father was against her decision to pursue an acting career.
She was spotted by Malayalam director Lal Jose, who offered her a supporting role in the remake of 'Neelathamara' (2009).
Later she appeared in many low budget Tamil films as lead actress.
'Mynaa' came as a breakthrough film in her career and won her Vijay Award for Best Debut Actress.
Her 2012 release, 'Vettai' was a commercial success.
'Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi' and 'Love Failure' success made her one of the leading actresses of South cinema.
She was paired with Mohanlal in 'Run Baby Run', which was a big commercial success.
She was also nominated for the Filmfare best actress award for Tamil film 'Mynaa'.
Ram Gopal Varma's 'Bejawada' opposite Naga Chaitanya was her Telugu debut .
Amala is pursuing her BA in English from St Teresa's College in Kochi.
