A story about finding love and experiencing loss, 'Dil Chahta Hai' was mainly an account of the friendship between three young men who battle out their differences to make their bonds even stronger.
Once again starring Aamir Khan, 'Rang de Basanti' spoke about the strong bond of friendship and commitment to the well-being of each other. In fact, so strong was this bond that after the death of one of the characters (R Madhavan), the rest avenge his death by embracing extreme means.
Nagesh Kukunoor's 'Dor' taught a lesson about how sometimes some threads of friendship become stronger than filial bonds. Both Ayesha Takia and Gul Panag gave impressive performances in the film.

Mostly when Amjad Khan acted alongside Amitabh Bachchan, the former played a negative character. However, in 'Yaarana', directed by Rakesh Kumar, Khan plays a positive character - Amitabh Bachchan's friend who wants to take him to the city to make him famous.
'3 Idiots' was also the tale of friendship and brotherhood shared between three friends. Despite several odds and threats, the three characters (played by Aamir Khan, R Madhavan and Sharman Joshi) stand by each other and support each other to bring out the best from within.

Abhishek Kapoor's film 'Rock On!!' explores the nuances of friendship in an urban setting, the trials and tribulations faced by the characters over several years of knowing each other.
'Sholay' is indeed a classic example of Bollywood's take on friendship between two young men. An iconic film across the decades, Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra play close friends Jai and Veeru and the film talks about their unconditional commitment towards each other's well-being.
