With the onset of the new year, Bollywood fans have a reason to rejoice with some interesting storylines and pairings to look forward to in 2014. Here is a list of films to watch out for in the first quarter of 2014.
Gunday: Bollywood's new brigade Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh are set to bring back the 70s era with 'Gunday'. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film sees the two play the role of gangster and for the first time Priyanka Chopra will be paired up opposite the two actors.
Miss Lovely: Ashim Ahluwalia's film which made it to the international film festival circuits will finally hit the Indian screens in 2014. 'Miss Lovely' looks into the lives of porn film industry through the lives of two brothers played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Anil George.
Shaadi Ke Side Effects: Saket Chaudhary tasted success with 2006 film 'Pyaar Ke Side Effects' and the director is back with the sequel of the film. Though, Farhan Akhtar and Vidya Balan have stepped into the shoes of Rahul Bose and Mallika Sherawat, 'Shaadi Ke Side Effects' takes the story forward when the two protagonists get married.
Bewakoofian: Sonam Kapoor will share screen space with Ayushmann Khurrana for the first time in 'Bewakoofian'. Directed by Nupur Asthana, the film is a romantic comedy and also stars Rishi Kapoor.
Gulaab Gang: Once arch rivals, Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla will be seen together in Soumik Sen's 'Gulaab Gang'. Madhuri will not just be seen in a new avatar in the film but interestingly Juhi Chawla will play a negative role in the film.
Dedh Ishqiya: There is no bigger a reason to rejoice than the return of Madhuri Dixit to films. She will share screen space with Naseeruddin Shah for the first time in 'Dedh Ishqiya'. Abhishek Chaubey will return to the director's seat and the film is expected to release on January 10, 2014.
Jai Ho: The undisputed king of Rs 100 crore club, Salman Khan will be seen playing the role of a crusader in brother Sohail Khan's film 'Jai Ho'. The actor has started promoting the film and the first look has grabbed many eyeballs. The film also stars Tabu in a lead role.
Highway: The story of 'Highway' stayed with Imtiaz Ali for almost 15 years and the director finally decided to make a film. Starring Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt, 'Highway' is about two people who discover themselves while travelling.
Hasee Toh Phasee: After making a debut in 'Student of the Year', Siddharth Malhotra is back to the silver screen in yet another Karan Johar film. But this time he is not directing the film but instead is the producer. He will cast opposite Parineeti Chopra in the romantic comedy. Will Karan Johar yet again prove lucky for Siddharth Malhotra?
Queen: Kangana Ranaut might have been panned by critics in 'Rajjo', but she is ready to strike with a bang in upcoming film 'Queen'. With an interesting storyline of a small town girl who ends up all alone in a foreign country on her honeymoon, the promos are quite quirky and promising.
