As for the changes you can expect in the new age Karz, it starts with the spelling itself – it has not two not three, but four ZZZZs in the title - Karzzzz!
Karz is being officially remade by T-Series and Himesh Reshammiya, who will step into Rishi Kapoor's role of Monty.
With the support of the original Karz hero and Subhash Ghai, the remake is all set to roll in February.
Explaining the title, singer and actor Himesh Reshammiya said, "I believe in numerology. It looks funny, yes, but Bhushan Kumar was gracious to agree, and therefore the film has begun on the right note."
The singer who last appeared in Aap Ka Suroor says he is hopeful of being accepted as a leading hero, despite the “unconventional” looks and image.
“The Karz remake is under production. It is not yet final whether Sushmita will be a part of the film or not. But I am looking forward to playing the role in my best capacity,” he was quoted by a news daily.
After Aap Kaa Surroor, Reshammiya will once again act, sing and compose the music for the film which will be shot in South Africa, Kenya and Mumbai and will go on floors from January 28.
There’s a one reason why all Reshammiya fans can look forward to this one: He will be seen without his trademark cap and will wear his long locks loose.
Director Indra Kumar's daughter Shweta will make her debut opposite the actor-singer-composer in Karzzzz.
Directed by Satish Kaushik, the film also stars Urmila Matondkar, Gulshan Grover, Danny Denzongpa, Rohini Hatangadi and Raj Babbar.
