At the event, Milkha Singh said, "Three to four directors approached me saying that they wanted to make a film on my story. My son was there when Rakeysh-ji (Omprakash Mehra) came and he decided that I should make it with him."

Apaprently, Milkha Singh charged Mehra only Rs 1 for helping him with the film.
The film's music and its theatrical trailer was launched in Mumbai on Wednesday.
Sonam wore a write, red and gold anarkali for the event.
