'Nishant' to 'Dirty Picture': Naseeruddin Shah turns 62

He has been a part of many multi-starrer films like 'Tridev', 'Vishwatma', 'Chamatkar' and others.

Naseeruddin started his career with offbeat films, but he gradually started doing the mainstream Bollywood films as well.

'A Wednesday', 'Ishqiya', '7 Khoon Maaf', 'The Dirty Picture' are some of his latest Bollywood films.

Naseeruddin Shah entered into mainstream Bollywood films with 'Hum Paanch' in 1980s.

Naseeruddin Shah has acted in many international projects as well. 'Monsoon Wedding', 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen', to name a few.

Soon after he was seen in films like 'Karam', 'Ijaazat' and 'Hero Hiralal'.

Naseeruddin Shah's love for theatre is never ending. He has directed several plays so far.

Naseeruddin Shah's first wife was Parvin Murad. They have a daughter together named Heeba Shah.

Naseeruddin Shah graduated in arts in 1971 from the Aligarh Muslim University.

Naseeruddin was born in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh in 1950. His father was a Navy officer and Naseer had no connection with the glamour industry.

Naseeruddin Shah has worked with many generations of actors in Bollywood.

He tried his luck in direction with 'Yun Hota To Kya Hota', released in 2006.

In 1982, he got married to film and TV actress Ratna Pathak Shah, after the death of his first wife. Their sons Imaad and Vivaan, both are trying their luck in Bollywood now.
