In India, the average data charges per one GB fall at $0.68 (roughly Rs 52). This is 29th in the list of cheapest plans across the world. India falls ahead of Australia, where the average cost is similar at $0.70 per GB.
In the list for most expensive mobile data are countries like Equatorial Guinea, where average data costs are $49.67 per GB, Falkland Islands, where the average cost is $44.56, Saint Helena, where the average data cost is $39.97, and more.
Compared to larger markets like China and USA, India is only behind China in terms of offering cheap internet costs. In China, the average cost is $0.50 per GB, as against India's $0.68 per GB average cost. In comparison, the people in United States pay an average of $3.33 (roughly Rs 254) per GB of mobile data.
