Black boxes are back in news after the unfortunate Sriwijaya Air Jet crash on Jan. 9, 2021. The plane carrying 62 people crashed into sea shortly after taking off. Debris from the plane were located in an area called the Thousand Islands, north of Jakarta. Indonesian authorities have recovered one of the black boxes - the Flight Data Recorder.
