Russian Secretary of the Security Council General Nikolay Patrushev, who arrived in Delhi last evening, will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, NSA Doval and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar around 10 am with focus on developments in Afghanistan. American intelligence and security officials are visiting India too, The Hindu reported. The US delegation led by Chief of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) William Burns will also fly to Pakistan.

The Yogi Adityanath government is planning a shubharambh (auspicious start) ceremony of the defence corridor in Uttar Pradesh from Aligarh in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi soon. The state has also shown a 200-acre piece of land in Lucknow, as requested, to the BRAHMOS Aerospace Joint Venture company for setting up a BRAHMOS Missile unit in the state, News18 has learnt.

Heavy rainfall in parts of north coastal Maharashtra has disturbed normal life, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall in Konkan, central Maharashtra and Vidarbha on Wednesday. There are no rains in Mumbai at present, but heavy to very heavy rainfall (64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours) over the financial capital neighbouring Thane has been forecast. Similar predication has been made for Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Nashik, Pune, Satara and Kolhapur districts.

TMC on Sunday officially announced that CM Banerjee is the party’s candidate for the Bhabanipur assembly which also happens to be her traditional seat. It was vacated by Agriculture Minister Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay in May, making way for Mamata Banerjee to contest from the seat.
Magnitude 6.9 Earthquake Shakes Mexico, Makes Buildings Sway in Capital
A 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck Mexico on Tuesday near the Pacific coast, the National Seismological Service said, shaking buildings in the capital several hundred kilometers away. The epicenter was 14 kilometers (nine miles) southeast of the beach resort of Acapulco in Guerrero state, the service said. There were no immediate reports of serious damage in the capital, City Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum said.
Salman Khan Moves Court Against Selmon Bhai, an Online Game Allegedly Based on His Hit-and-run Case
A Mumbai civil court has ordered temporary restraint on access to an online mobile game titled ‘Selmon Bhoi’, allegedly based on a hit-and-run incident involving Bollywood actor Salman Khan. Civil court judge K M Jaiswal passed the order on Monday and a copy of it was made available on Tuesday. The court restrained the makers of the game, Parody Studios Pvt Ltd and its directors, from disseminating, launching, re-launching and recreating the game or any other content relating to the actor.
