New Delhi: The passengers on an Air India flight were kept waiting for more than eight hours inside the aircraft on Friday night for their flight to take off. But it never did.
Flight AI 127 was supposed to take off at 1:30 am. But then got delayed by two hours due to operational issues.
When those issues were sorted out, the crew said their duty hours were over.
By the time Air India got the DGCA's approval to extend its crews duty hours it was too late to fly and the flight was cancelled.
The airline apologised to the passengers and put them up at a nearby hotel, but the passengers were infuriated.
The passengers said that Air India completely mismanaged the problem.
Some have spent two days at the airport - without food and no place to stay.
A passenger slammed the airline, "No services no communication for 24 hours for no apparent reason. When they can't have any services, they should not be providing any flights".
