On the 50th anniversary of India's defeat against China in the 1962 war, Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne hinted that the outcome of the war would have been different had the Air Force been allowed to play a more offensive role.
Speaking to CNN-IBN, Browne said, "You all know what happened in the 1962 war. The Air Force wasn't allowed to play an offensive role. We only dealt with relief measures."
Continuing, he said, "But that won't be the case again. I assure you we won't have such limitations. The IAF will play a more leading role if the need arises."
