Aircel-Maxis case: Special 2G court summons Dayanidhi, Kalanithi Maran

New Delhi: A special 2G court has summoned Former telecom minister Dayanidhi Maran as accused in Aircel-Maxis deal case. The court has also summoned Kalanithi Maran and Malaysian business tycoon T Ananda Krishnan as accused in the case on March 2, 2015.

Augustus Ralph Marshall, a top official of Malaysia-based Maxis group, has also been summoned as accused by the court.

Besides these individuals the court has also summoned four companies including Sun Direct TV Pvt Ltd, as accused.

Maran has been accused of "forcing" Chennai-based telecom promoter C Sivasankaran to sell the stake in Aircel to a Malaysian firm Maxis Group in 2006 owned by Kuala Lumpur-based business tycoon T Ananda Krishnan.

The Central Bureau of Investigation in August had filed a chargesheet against them in the Aircle-Maxis deal case. All the accused were chargesheeted for offences of criminal conspiracy and under various provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act.
