New Delhi: Giving a sigh of relief to the differently-abled people, no airlines can refuse any person with disabilities to fly in the aircraft. The ruling comes after the government framed stricter guidelines to aide air travel of such passengers.

Airport operators will now have to make special arrangements for the screening of passengers with disabilities. Airports will also have to ensure that screening passengers with prosthetics should be done with sensitivity. The government guidelines also state that while medical documentation is helpful it is not essential.

However, activists are not fully satisfied with the order and are planning to press for further amendments in the procedure.

CNN-IBN has been leading a sustained campaign pressing for the senstitised treatment for the disabled.
