Hyderabad: Two employees have been confirmed dead in a suspected gas leak at Dr Reddy's laboratory at Bollaram in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Both victims were contract employees at the Dr Reddy's facility in Hyderabad. The two employees who succumbed to gas leak have been identified as Sridhar Reddy and Deepak. The deaths reportedly occurred around 1:30 AM.

Their discoloured bodies were discovered when morning shift workers went inside the laboratory.

A case under Section 304 (negligence leading to death) of Criminal Procedure Code has been registered against the management of Dr Reddy's laboratory.

Authorities are investigating the cause of death.

Following the accident some workers of Dr Reddy's laboratory protested outside the office demanding that the family of the two workers should be informed of their death and their bodies be sent immediately to their hometowns.

They also demanded better work facilities at the laboratory.
