Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen decided not to continue as the Chancellor of Nalanda University as he feel that the government did not want him to stay. Sen said, "Strong rumours doing the round that Modi government did not want me to continue in Nalanda. I don't know if my criticism of Modi is the reason, but if true it's very tragic. As a citizen of India I have the right to vote for who I want and to criticise the government in power. My criticism of Modi should not impact my academic integrity."
