Gujarat Police leaves for Jodhpur to take Asaram's custody

Ahmedabad: In another case of sexual assault filed by two sisters against self-styled godman Asaram and his son Narayan Sai, the Gujarat Police has now got a transfer warrant from Gandhinagar court to get his custody. A team has now left for Jodhpur to take custody of Asaram and will reach by Wednesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh Police has reopened a case against Asaram. The case pertains to the suspicious death of a 30-year-old mad who was Asaram's disciple.

The case dates back to 2011. An FIR was lodged but the case was later closed.

Meanwhile, also named in the Gujarat sexual assault case, Asaram's son Narayan Sai has gone missing after a lookout notice was issued against him. After issuing a lookout notice to prevent Narayan Sai from leaving the country, the Surat police have formed six teams to trace him.

Asaram, who is currently in a Jodhpur prison and facing trial for assaulting another minor girl, had on Tuesday also approached the Supreme Court seeking to restrain the media from covering his trial.
