New Delhi: The tables have turned completely for public prosecutor I U khan and defense lawyer R K Anand. Used to putting others in the dock, these high profile senior lawyers now find themselves being reprimanded by the courts. 
 
Anand and Khan were found guilty by the Delhi High Court of colluding to save Sanjeev Nanda, the main accused in the high-profile BMW hit-and-run case. 
 
Following a sting operation by a private news channel, the Delhi Bar Council investigated charges of corruption and has now barred them from practicing for the next four months. 
 
The court has even recommended stripping the convicted lawyers of their designation as senior advocates.. 
 
Delhi Bar Council Chairman, K K Manan says, "People are speculating that we will not take action against our own brothers, but this is not true. If found guilty, action will be taken against them." 
 
Senior Advocate K T S Tulsi added, "This has happened in the past. In fact, the bar has cancelled the license of the chairman of bar council also in thepast because he was found guilty of misconduct." 
 
On May 31 2007, a TV sting operation had shown main witness, Sunil Kulkarni in conversation with Khan and Anand in which they were trying to bribe the Kulkarni. 
 
The nine-year-old BMW hit-and-run case is still pending in the lower court and is its final stages. 
 
The main accused, Sanjeev Nanda, had allegedly mowed down six people in the Capital. Grandson of Admiral S M Nanda and son of arms dealer Suresh Nanda, Sanjeev is currently out on bail.
