Mumbai: As scheduled, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation officials reached the Campa Cola Society on Monday morning and as promised, the residents let them enter the complex after a stand off of over three days.
The BMC officials disconnected power supply to the illegal flats as part of the eviction process. They will also scrap utilities like water connection.
Even as the residents caved in after a meeting with Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, residents assert that they would not hand over the keys to their apartment to the BMC officials.
On Sunday, the representatives of the society met the CM seeking help over the issue. Addressing the media after meeting the CM, the residents said that they changed their minds after two protestors had to be taken to the hospital earlier in the day.
