Over to France now, where the 63rd Cannes Film Festival kicked off a today despite some delays caused due to the stormy weather.. the fest will continue for another 11 days and here's a sneak preview of it... It's an age old tale about a man stealing from the rich to feed the poor….and now Ridley Scott tries to capture it with his version of Robin Hood that was screened at the opening of the 63rd Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday. Now he might be fighting and hiding out in the forest…. But there is something different about this Robin Hood, at least according the actor who plays him...Russell Crowe. says, "This is the first time Robin Hood has an accent and is close to his place of origin." Meanwhile India will be represented by Mallika Sherawat who will be there to promote her two films - Hissss and Love Barrack. And Woody Allen brings Freida Pinto to screen in "you will meet a tall dark stranger". Udaan directed by Vikramaditya Motwane is even vying for an award - the Un Certain Regard title. Among the team judging which film wins which award is Indian director Shekhar Kapur and heading the jury is director Tim Burton. Tim Burton: It's always nice to be here, and I'm excited. The festival will come to a close on May 23, 2010 with the first showing of Oliver Stone's Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps starring Michael Douglas - where financial wolf, Gordon Gekko from 1987's Wall Street returns after a stint in jail to inform the financial sector of impending doom.
