Who hid chargesheet details against Thomas?

New Delhi: CNN-IBN has accessed key file notings related to the appointment of the CVC PJ Thomas.

The documents available with CNN-IBN make it clear that the government was not aware of the chargesheet against THomas.

CNN-IBN has accessed a copy of Thomas's bio data presented to the Prime minister Manmohan Singh, Home Minister P Chidambram and Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj.

The file put up before the three member panel had the chargesheet as the missing link.

The bio data of PJ thomas that was put up before the panel for consideration for the CVC's post did not mention the Palmolein oil case - a case in which he was chargesheeted by the Kerala government.

The entire file related to Thomas's appointment proves what the Attorney General told the Supreme Court on Thursday.

Attorney General Vahanvati had told the Supreme Court that the high powered selection committee did not know the complete facts about Thomas's case.

The question is where did the case history of Thomas go missing or where was it diluted?

If it was the Department of Personnel and Training that prepared the bio data for panel's recommendation then why wasn't the complete picture presented before the Prime Minister?

The next big embarassement for the government will come next week if the BJP files an affidavit in the Supreme Court questioning the government's claim that it didn't know Thomas' past.
