New Delhi: In several parts of North India, there was some relief from the sweltering heat with heavy rains and thunder showers on Friday evening. However, the strong winds in Delhi claimed nine lives too.
A man was killed in East Delhi after an air borne tin sheet slit his throat. Two people died in a wall collapse and two others died after trees fell on them.
A ground handling staff at the Delhi Airport was killed and six aircraft damaged. Air traffic was hampered and 12 flights had to be diverted.
