New Delhi: Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra is so smitten by Amitabh Bachchan’s performance in the film Eklavya that he has gifted the superstar a silver Phantom Rolls Royce worth Rs 3.5 crore as a thank you present.
“He gifted me a great performance,” said Chopra and added in jest, “He promised to buy me a car. He hasn't bought me one so this is a polite reminder. I wish he loved bullock carts it would have been so much cheaper.”
But the Big B says that this gift is Chopra’s “guru dakshina as he is the Eklavya.”
Chopra, who waited 30 years to work with Bachchan, says his only worry is that his dream has come true at a huge price.
“I have worked with great actors like Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff and Boman Irani. But I can't afford cars for everybody. Everyone has done wonders in my films. Some of the actors have actually called me asking when are they getting their cars,” Chopra said.
First the Big B gifted a Bentley to his son Abhishek Bachchan on his birthday and now he gets a Rolls Royce.
Barely able to contain his excitement and before making a dash for his new car Bachchan said, "I want to end this interview so I can enjoy my car."
