Election Epicentre: Blockade Politics in U.P

Blockade politics has now found a place in Uttar Pradesh - Akhilesh Yadav was stopped from going to Allahabad University in Prayagraj by the Yogi Sarkar. With the Uttar Pradesh CM saying that there was a fear of violence spreading, the move angered the Samajwadi party leading to clashes in Prayagraj and a march in Lucknow to the governor's house - There's a twist to the tale of Akhilesh Yadav being stopped from going to PrayagRaj rather than just the security concerns mentioned by the Yogi Govt - College authorities-in their letter dated yesterday- denied permission to any neta on campus. CNN-News18, meanwhile has accessed Akhilesh Yadav's protocol letter which clearly mentions that the SP Chief was expected to visit a seer in Kumbh... Interestingly, sources confirm that in this meeting with Akhara parishad was all set to felicitate Akhilesh for organising the grand Kumbh in 2012. Sources, also suggest that the Yogi govt was afraid of this felicitation - Like Mamata blocked Shah in Bengal - the same game is being played in Uttar Pradesh - is this a sign of worry by the ruling parties - or a clear case of strongarm politics ahead of polls.
