Election Epicentre: Modi Govt’s Big Move On Ram Mandir

The Ayodhya dispute - one of the most contentious political issues of India - has been alive since our nation's independence. The legal battle over the title suit has not ended - out of court settlements have failed along with any attempt for political consensus - Ahead of the critical Lok Sabha polls - with mounting pressure from Hindu groups - the Modi regime has made its move - pushing a new legal strategy to pave the way for the construction of the Ram Mandir - the Modi Sarkar will move the apex court to allow it to handover the undisputed land in the area to the original owners. Remember - the land was acquired by the Centre back in 1993 - one year after the Babri demolition - The Centre's application says that only 0.3 acres of the land is disputed and the rest should be handed over. Is this clearly a legal route to fufil the demands of Hindu groups to construct the Ram Mandir - does the BJP aim to kick off construction and cash in on the political dividends for the 2019 elections? I spoke to BJP general secretary Ram Madhav earlier today - this is what he had to say.
