goodevening you are with election epicentre – I am Sneha Mordani - yesterday on the show we got you a story from London - that of a hackathon that was being organised by a self proclaimed cyber expert called Syed Shuja - who claimed that electronic voting machines in India - used in the year 2014 were tampered with and that is how the BJP won elections- that was the startling wild claim made - Given the interest on the subject, particlaurly after repeated allegations made by the opposition in India that the country should go back to paper ballot since EVMs were not tamper proof , this hackathon raised eye brows - 24 hours later its evident that the hackathon in itself was a damp squib ... but it has already led to a massive political controversy because Kapil Sibal - senior leader of the congress was at this event - The election commission in itself hasnt taken very kindly to this - clarifying that EVMs cant be tampered with and also filing a police complaint against the cyber expert - But in the run up to 2019 Parliamentary elections - this is an issue that isnt dying down anytime soon with the chorus for paper ballot growing - we discuss the controversy that perhaps was never was
