New Delhi: With no Bollywood releases lined up in the first week of the New Year, movie buffs can look forward to two Hollywood productions this weekend – Baz Luhrmann's epic romance Australia and Ayesha Dharker starrer Outsourced.
After Moulin Rouge, director Baz Luhrman is back with Australia starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. Set in late 1930s and early 1940s the film revolves around an English aristocrat Lady Ashley, played by Kidman, who travels to her husband's cattle ranch in Faraway Downs in Australia because she suspects him of cheating on her. However her husband dies even before she reaches the ranch; leaving her straddled with the responsibilty of transporting the cattle to the port of Darwin all by herself except for some help in the form of a cattle herder, played by Hugh Jackman. Australia captures the tribulations of the two strangers on their journey and the drama that unfolds en route.
From the writers of 50 First Dates comes another romantic comedy called Outsourced. Ayesha Dharker plays Asha, a Mumbai-based call centre employee whose life veers off course when a disgruntled American executive,Todd Anderson played by Josh Hamilton shows up. Josh's come to Mumbai to train his replacement --- who is none other than Asha.
