Harvey Weinstein Surrendered But Has Bollywood Missed Its #MeToo Moment?

Seven months after he was publicly accused of sexual harassment and rape by as many as 80 women, Harvey Weinstein is finally behind bars. Once called the most influential man in Hollywood, Weinstein surrendered to authorities in New York that are investigating sexual misconduct charges against him. The list of his victims include some of the biggest stars in the industry — Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Ashley Judd, Salma Hayek, Rose McGowan and many others . Amid all the furore, though, Bollywood though has been awfully quiet. Actresses like Priyanka Chopra and Vidya Balan have referred to the Weinstein’s in the Indian film industry but have stopped short of naming them. It is perhaps fair to say that Bollywood has missed its #MeToo moment.
