World Hemophilia Day is observed every year on April 17 across the world. Hemophilia is a genetic condition where blood clot doesn't occur. India accounts for 25 per cent of the world's hemophilia patients.
The hemophilia patients in India are very prone to getting infections during blood transfusions.
According to the Hemophilia Federation of India, nearly 10 per cent of hemophilia patients in the country are infected with HIV and nearly 30 per cent are infected with Hepatitis C.
