No leads on the whereabouts of Indian kidnapped in Herat

New Delhi: There is no breakthrough yet in the case of the kidnapping of Indian an NGO worker in Herat, Afghanistan. The Ministry of External Affairs has said that it is in constant touch with the Afghan government and local authorities that have launched a search operation for Indian Alexis Prem Kumar.

The MEA has denied that Prem Kumar is linked to the Indian mission there. The family of Father Alexis Prem Kumar said that it is in touch with the Indian embassy but have no fresh leads on his whereabouts.

Kumar's family last spoke to him on Sunday. He was been working with international Catholic NGO Jesuit Refugee Service and had gone to visit a school outside Herat when he went missing.
