Guntur: A woman from Andhra Pradesh claimed that she was injected with HIV virus by her daughter to kill her and usurp her property. The police has registered a case of attempt to murder. It's a case that's surprised not just the police but also the local village folk of Andhra Pradesh's Guntur district. 59-year-old Bharathi Rao, along with her husband R. Ranga Rao, filed a complaint against her daughters for allegedly injecting her with HIV infected blood. In her complaint, Bharathi said her daughters wanted to kill her to take over her property. “This is all because of property. They want my husband and me to die soon, so that we are out of their way,” said Bharathi. The couple filed this complaint after Bharathi tested positive for HIV in a subsequent blood test. The daughters, however, have denied the charges. “These allegations are false. She tested positive because of her own social behaviour. We have not done anything,” said Bharathi’s daughter and accused Kameswari. The police meanwhile have arrested the daughters and the son-in-law on charges of attempt to murder under IPC 307 and say they will be investigating the property dispute angle as well.
