Pakistan PM Imran Khan lays foundation stone for the much-awaited corridor linking Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan's Kartarpur — the final resting place of Sikh faith's founder Guru Nanak Dev — to Dera Baba Nanak shrine in India's Gurdaspur district to facilitate visa-free movement of Indian Sikh pilgrims. India has sent Union ministers Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Hardeep Singh Puri to Pakistan to attend the ground-breaking ceremony, while Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu is present in his “personal” capacity. Harsimrat and Sidhu have been enganged in a war of words ever since the latter last trip to Pakistan for Imran Khan's swearing-in ceremony where he hugged Pakistan army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa. In a last-minute announcement, Pakistan announced that Bajwa, too, would be part of the Kartarpur corridor.
