New Delhi: EC to continue hearing on CD issue on Thursday. Hindu outfits have called bandh in Bhopal over inter-religion marriage. B L Joshi to be sworn in as Meghalaya Governor. Counting of votes will be held in 3 Lok Sabha seats of Maharashtra
EC hearing on CD issue:
The Election Commission hearing on the controversial BJP CD case will continue on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the EC adjourned the hearing as the BJP resented Election Commissioner Navin Chawla's presence.
The three-member commission, on the other hand, was of the unanimous view that Chawla will hear both sides in the matter.
Various Hindu organisations have called a bandh in Bhopal on Thursday to protest an inter-religious marriage in the city.
Police had earlier detained the brother of the groom under pressure from Saffron outfits, but released him later following a CNN-IBN Citizen Journalist report.
BL Joshi will be sworn in as the Governor of Meghalaya on Thursday. Joshi succeeds M M Jacob.
He was appointed to the post on the April 5.
Joshi, a former IPS officer, was shifted from Delhi where he was the Lt Governor.
Counting of Maharashtra LS seats votes
Counting of votes in the by polls to the Jalgaon, Erandol and Ramtek Lok Sabha seats will be done on Thursday.
By polls were held in Jalgaon and Erandol following the expulsion of the sitting BJP MPs from the Lok Sabha in the wake of the MP's cash-for-query scam.
The vacancy in Ramtek was caused because the Shiv Sena's Subodh Mohite quit the seat after switching over to the Congress.
