Mumbai: Rave party busted; IPL players involved too

Mumbai: Mumbai Police on Sunday evening bust an alleged rave party at Oakwood Hotel in Juhu. The police claim to have recovered cocaine from the party. Over 80 people, including foreign nationals, have been detained and medical reports are awaited. The police sources said few IPL players may have been involved in the rave party as well.

The police said only after the test reports they will be able to establish amount of drugs used by individuals. The authorities are waiting for medical results before making any arrests.

According to reports, 58 boys and 30 girls are suspected to have attended the suspected rave party. The police sources said most of the women detained are foreign nationals.

Additional Commissioner of Police Vishwas Nagre Patil conducted the raid at Hotel Oakwoods in Juhu and detained several, many of them youngsters, they said.

Speaking to CNN-IBN Patil said, "Approximately 110 gm of cocaine was found. Prima facie reports also suggest MDMA or ecstasy tablets. We will confirm after verification. There are lot of foreign women amongst those detained. Only after the blood and urine test results come will we know who all are responsible."

The type of drug used at the party was not immediately known and the raid is still on, police said, adding, those detained have been sent to Cooper Hospital for medical examination.
