New Delhi: In a new twist to the Ponty-Hardeep murders, the police on Sunday claimed in court that Hardeep had felt slighted after his brother Ponty and his aide and key accused in the double murder case, SS Namdhari purchased several properties in Nainital and Bazpur. The police also told court that Namdhari intentionally killed Hardeep after which he handed over the weapon to his PSO, who told another accused to destroy the weapon.
Namdhari was on Sunday remanded to three-day police custody. The police had appealed for a five-day custody to get more leads on the seven other accused in the case who have reportedly fled to Amritsar, Ludhiana and Gurdaspur.
The police are also on the lookout for the man who tried to destroy the murder weapon. The next hearing in the case is on December 5.
