The Karnataka Sarkar, the only Congress alliance govt in the country, is in serious crisis after a rebellion by 14 MLAs from the Congress and its ally JDS. In a desperate bid to protect the government, all ministers of the state cabinet have quit to make room for the rebels. The cabinet will be restructured soon to keep the government stable. However, the rebels MLAs lodged in Sofitel hotel in Mumbai remain defiant. The JDS is ring-fencing its MLAs by moving them to Madekeri while the BJP, the single largest party in the state, is ‘waiting and watching’ to make its next move. Negotiations and hectic parleys continue in the political storm in Karnataka. Is the Congress-JDS government on the brink of collapse? With the resignation of the entire cabinet have the Congress and JDS exposed their desperation and made the way for BJP rule in the state?
